Paul Eason
When I first started playing guitar in junior high, it was all about rock, ska, and punk....

Hey TMR listeners!

We just got back from Fort Worth Texas. We went to the Aardvark to see Paul Eason! The Angry Sound Guy met us down there because he likes to have his own car so that he can "cat nap" between sound check and the show. We keep telling him he doesn't have to bring his own car, he can sleep in ours, but he claims "it's not the same because he has a make shift bed in the back of his Yukon." He's a weird guy but we love him.

We arrived at the Aardvark at about 6pm which is a lot later than our usual arrival time. I, of course, immediately grabbed beers for myself and Brother Josh. Jess posted up at a little table in the back and proceeded to carry on a two hour long phone conversation about God knows what. And the sound Guy, well as you can probably imagine, was behind the building lightin' up a couple cigs before the show.

The band arrived at about 8:00pm. We hooked up all of our sound equipment and then listened to the band do sound check. During sound check a bunch of people started rolling in, and oddly enough they were all dressed very similar. I was a little confused wondering what the deal was and then I was told a fraternity had rented out the place. Brother Josh was a little worried because in the past he has not had the best of luck with Frat guys, but luckily we didn't have any problems and the night went smoothly. Despite the fact that Brother Josh was about two Budweiser's away from passing out and the Angry Sound guy was pretty much mesmerized by the girls on the dance floor. I always worry when we go to a place where there are a lot of attractive women because our sound guy just gets too distracted. It's like the whole world stops and he can't concentrate on anything else.

The show ended up going great though, even with two half-way-there guys on the sound equipment. "This is supposed to be a serious radio show," that's what I tell the crew every week. But, time and time again we either get too drunk, too loud, or too distracted by the hot girls. I have tried and tried to make this a professional gig, but have fallen short time and time again. Oh well, what can you do? I'm guessing not much, well, at this point anyway.

My fiance' tries to keep us all in line, but sometimes we can be a little more than she can handle. Like for example, when we walked over to Fuzzy's Tacos which is next door to the Aardvark, we got there and immediately the first thing all three of us ordered was their giant margaritas. This place is like a mix between Chipotle and El Fenix (which you should all know is the angry Sound Guy's one true love in this world). It's like fast food but you can go in and sit down and have a couple of drinks as well. The food is great and very affordable.

After Fuzzy's it was time to head back over to the Aardvark because I needed to interview Paul before he went on stage. I had fun interviewing Peason, and he put on a great show! He played a great set and the crowd seemed to really enjoy themselves. He is a very talented musician and a great songwriter as well. We had a great time at the Aardvark this weekend; make sure you stop in next time you're in the area!

Thanks for listening,
