The Texas Music Roadshow is bringing you Bleu Edmondson this week!! We recorded Bleu at the Oasis Club in Breckenridge Texas! The Oasis club is a private club that opened its doors up to the public, so that all of Breckenridge could see Bleu live in concert! When I say "all of Breckenridge" I mean EVERYONE! When I first heard Bleu was playing in Breckenridge Texas I was a little confused...To be honest with you, I have never heard of the place, but I looked it up and sure enough it's a real place about 2 hours outside of Dallas. Now the main reason I'm telling you about Breckenridge being such a small town is because the Bleu Edmondson concert was not a "small concert." There were a lot of people there, which just shows you that great music will bring people from near and far no matter how small the town.
The TMR really enjoyed Breckenridge. We ate at Ernie's Spanish Kitchen, so the Angry Sound Guy could get some salsa and enchiladas. When he ordered two enchilada dinners the waitress asked if he was waiting on someone else, which really just set him off. Because you know he wasn't waiting on anyone, those two dinners were for him and how dare her question that. It took us awhile but we finally got him to calm down.
After dinner we got back to the Oasis Club, and at that point we were all a couple of Margaritas deep from Ernie's Kitchen. So naturally, Brother Josh decided it would be a good idea to start with the Jager Bombs. At one point I was a nervous that the TMR was going to single handedly drink the Oasis Club out of Jager. The TMR and friends wouldn't stop with the shots!!
The Matt Stapp band opened up for Bleu and they put on a really good show. Before Bleu went on I got to sit down and have a little talk with him. Bleu grew up in Dallas and also lived in College Station for awhile, so we have a lot in common. It was cool getting to talk to him about places we both visited frequently in those towns and, of course, getting to pick his brain about music. Bleu has been a favorite artist of mine for a long time, and I have been to a lot of his concerts. He puts on a great live show and he is a great guy. People love him, and he was definitely loved at the Oasis Club. The place was packed and everyone was singin' along with my boy Bleu! Make sure you listen to the TMR this week it's a great concert that you don't want to miss!
